About finstory
The story deserves the same rigour as the numbers.
Finance teams close the books with care, controls and audit trails. Then the board pack is built by hand, late at night, from copies. We started finstory to close that gap.
Why we built it
The close has become fast and reliable. The part that follows, turning numbers into a story a board can act on, has barely changed in twenty years. It still means exports, pasted tables and commentary written from memory.
AI can help, but only if it is trustworthy. A board cannot accept a number that was estimated, or an explanation that was invented. So finstory works from a governed model of your ledger, quotes figures exactly, and asks the person who knows whenever the data can't explain a move.
The result is a first draft that is right, on time, and still unmistakably yours.
What we believe
Lead with the finding
A CFO has three minutes. The answer comes first.
Never invent a number
Every figure traces to the ledger. No estimates, no rounding tricks.
Ask, don't guess
Context comes from people. The software should know when to ask.
You decide
AI proposes, finance approves. Nothing goes to the board without you.
The company
Finstory, Inc. is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, and works with finance teams in the United States and Europe. We build with a small group of design partners who present to their boards every month.
